Colosseum, the giant Flavian Amphitheatre, is Rome’s most popular tourist attraction.

The Colosseum underground is called the Hypogeum, which held caged animals and where gladiators rested before the battle.

Your little ones will be filled with curiosity after seeing the traces of history in the Hypogeum.

Only a guided tour of the Colosseum will get you access to the Colosseum underground.

The kids will be intrigued as your live guide showers your group with tales, myths, and anecdotes from ancient history.

Many regions of Rome have a long-standing tradition of puppet theaters.

There are two places where your kids can enjoy free puppet shows.

Teatrino Di Pulcinella al Gianicolo is a traditional open-air puppet theater in the park. It is located near Janiculum Hill.

The show depicts Pulcinella, a Neapolitan hand puppet best known to English speakers as the star of Punch and Judy.

Half-hour shows are presented in the early morning and late afternoon on weekends.

Even though admission is free, ensure the children have some money to put in the hat that will be passed around in the audience.

You will find a similar show depicting Pulcinella at the San Carlino theater. It is located near Viale Dei Bambini

Explore Villa Borghese Gardens in a golf cart

Kids will love riding a fancy electric golf cart as they explore the stunning greenery of Villa Borghese Gardens.

This activity is best suited for kids, as much walking may exhaust them.

Take a break from walking for one to three hours with this rented golf cart tour.

Roll gently around 80 hectares of a lush landscape near the famous Borghese Gallery at a comfortable and safe speed.

Be the coolest tourists in Rome by hopping on this golf buggy ride!

Colosseum at night

The Roman Colosseum is very different at night than it is during the day.

We advise seeing the Colosseum during the day if you haven’t already.

But, if time and money are not a constraint, visiting the Colosseum at night is worth it.

The best way to enjoy the Colosseum in peace while avoiding the long lines, crowds, and heat during the day is to take a VIP Colosseum Night Tour.

You can enjoy a drink of Prosecco in addition to the well-lit setting.
